I now have pics available from Day 1 of Comic Con, San Diego (Thursday July 26).

Battlestar Galactica, with Richard Hatch, Bear McCreary, Dr Kevin Grazier, Mark Verheiden, and Brad Lineweaver
There was one more panelist whose name I unfortunately can't recall for the life of me. (oopsie, my bad). He is at the far end, stage right, and he works with Richard on numerous writing projects. If anyone can tell me his name, please do so, so that I can give him proper credit. - Update: The final panelist was Brad Lineweaver. Thank you Kevin Grazier for the assist!

Lost, with Harold Perrineau, Damon Lindelof, and Carlton Cuse.

The behemoth convention known as Comic Con San Diego grows ever larger. Unfortunately that means that you really can't hop quickly from one panel to the next any more and expect to find decent seats. You have to pick and choose carefully now, giving yourself PLENTY of extra time to arrive early (VERY early), which usually means missing one or more panels of interst in order to attend another. In my case, that meant skipping the Paramount Studio and Torchwood sessions to sit in on the "Battlestar Galactica" panel hosted by Richard Hatch and Bear McCreary, followed later by "Lost".

Items of interst behind the cut. Spoilers for Lost. Very, very, very trivial spoilage for BSG. )

Grand Slam XV Report - The Battlestar Galactica Panel, Sunday April 15

First off...The Disclaimer {drum roll please}...The following report is the result of a combined effort between me and a friend of mine who is still too shy to come out of the closet and publicly embrace her geekdom (for now...I'm working on her). Some extensive notes were taken during the session, but neither of us have perfect memories, and therefore unless quotes are explicitly used, the following statements should not be assumed to be the exact words of the actors. We have simply done our very best to describe what was said in response to the questions from the crowd.
So on we go... )

Now that a TV Guide columnist has jumped into the fray regarding that BSG spoiler, we can expect that the frenzy has officially begun.
Cut for the sake of those who have managed to still remain spoiler free )

More thoughts on that BSG season 3.5 spoiler
I'm placing my latest thoughts on this subject behind a cut to protect devout spoilerphobes, but I'm only making general reference to the high-level subject and not discussing any actual spoiler details nor making any predictions.
A storm approaches...Let's hope it's meaningful. )

Frankly, I'm surprised it took this long.

As soon as Kara started butting heads with her mirror image protege, I began to suspect that perhaps we should begin the deathwatch for Kat. Then when Kat won the Top Gun trophy away from Kara, I was certain Kat was doomed. TPTB couldn't very well have Starbuck playing second fiddle forever, could they? Naturally, Kat would have to go out in a blaze of glory following another confrontation with Kara that would give Starbuck yet one more excuse to feel guilty.

Bingo. It took a little longer than I expected, but it happened.
The teacher still needs to learn from the student. )

I'm pathetic. Every season I tell myself that I want to stay spoiler-free....and then I get unintentionally spoiled and just figure, "What the hell...give me spoilers!"

I blame [info]ysrith for the temptation on these ramblings, which are essentially my own thoughts about her spoilery post from a few weeks back. I tried to resist reading it...but obviously I wussed out. I'm not going to repeat all of the spoilers from her post (read the original if you want to know), I'm just tossing around my own ideas on the subject.

Don't you dare click this link if you want to avoid spoilers...unless you've wussed out like me. )

My ramblings that follow are based upon a few quotes from folks involved in the show, a few vague spoilers, and a lot of my own speculation. In other words, I could be way off base and proven totally wrong...or I may just be on to something. :D
Cut to protect the spoiler-sensitive )

Once again I find myself with conflicting feelings about an episode of BSG. There is much to admire in "Hero" but unfortunately I wasn't able to really connect to David Eick's script because of a cursory attention to characters and a few big logic bombs inherent throughout the story.

OMG!
I just got a gander at the thumbnails of the promo stills being released for episode 3.08 "Unfinished Business"
Spoilerphobes...stay away from this cut! )
