I just saw Kate Vernon last Friday and she didn't mention this, but she's on the list as one of the celebrities who will be riding in the Hollywood Santa Parade this Sunday, November 25th. (This used to be known as the Hollywood Christmas Parade, but it's being sponsored by the city of LA this year instead of by Hollywood, hence they had to change the name.) The event will be broadcast in the Los Angeles area on KTLA in early December, other regions will have to check your local listings.

Are you a fan who wants to support the writers on strike, but can't turn up for a shift on the picket lines? Check out the Pencils 2 Media Moguls campaign being organized by United Hollywood. Donations to that site will go toward the purchse of boxes of environmentally friendly pencils ($1 per box) that will be delivered en masse to the 6 media conglomerates as a show of support for the writers from the fans who the networks are supposed to be trying to please. The website also has mailing addresses for the 6 media conglomerates if you'd perfer to buy and mail the pencils yourself.

I was flying solo at this con with no one to take notes while I played shutterbug. Yipes! Therefore, any and all use of quotes in this post should be assumed to be descriptive in nature and not anybody's actual words. I also won't bother to repeat those items that I included in my news dump yesterday. But first, a tip of the hat goes to Brandy2Dog who purchased her Gold Member ticket at last year's convention, but was unable to attend and sold her ticket to me only about a week before the event. So thank you Ro, and I hope you'll be able to make it next year.
